The Cultivating the Gift of Preaching Initiative (CGPI) has been steadily gaining momentum in recent months. Activities have included engaging with church leaders, participating in conferences, and recruiting participants and preacher-mentors.

CGPI has the potential to empower local congregations in identifying and nurturing their own leaders and preachers. Recognizing the challenges posed by traditional models of theological education, particularly for smaller churches, the initiative offers a promising alternative. By embracing emerging preachers within congregational settings and providing tailored training, CGPI fosters an inclusive and sustainable approach to ministry formation. From rural communities to urban centers, the initiative seeks to bridge the gap between theological education and congregational needs, ensuring that preaching remains relevant and impactful in diverse contexts.

The application deadline has been extended to April 19th, with recommendation letters accepted until the 26th, accommodating those in need of additional time to apply.
