Those desiring to gain clarification or to comment on the 2023 Proposed Budget and the Narrative will be able to do so either via one of the Zoom meeting listed below or via email comments directed to bnfmoderator@lakemichiganpresbytery.org. Please direct all questions and comments to this address and not to another email address for any member of the Budget & Finance Committee.

Three Zoom times are available from which representatives of sessions, representatives of Campus Ministries, all teaching elders including Ministers at Large (MAL), Honorably Retired (HR), those serving in validated ministries, and all CREs can select one in which to participate. The times for the First Draft 2023 Budget Feedback Zoom Meetings are:

  • Sunday, October 9, 2022 from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Monday, October 10, 2022 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

All who wish to participate must register using an online form available here. Advance registration is requested by Monday, October 3, 2022. Questions about the registration process should be directed to the presbytery’s office manager at office@lakemichiganpresbytery.org.

There will be a limit of 26 feedback participants per Zoom session. Assignment to the Zoom sessions will be on a first come, first served basis. Those so assigned will receive login credentials in the email address provided during registration within two days before their assigned Zoom time.

Sessions may select two ruling elders who will be accorded voice during the discussions. Likewise, each campus ministry may select two representatives who will be accorded voice. (We encourage any others who wish to gain insight to join with those who have registered to listen.)

The Feedback Zoom meetings are scheduled to last up to 90 minutes. Comments by those registered will be limited to 3 minutes; those who have spoken will be able to speak again after all desiring to speak on a particular topic have spoken.

Those who cannot participate at the time selected by their congregation are encouraged to send their email comments to the bnfmoderator@lakemichiganpresbytery.org before 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2022. The Budget & Finance Committee will meet on Tuesday October 18, 2022, to consider the feedback and prepare the Second Read of the 2023 Proposed Budget.
