Registration is now open to attend one of four online conversations being held this spring as Presbytery of Lake Michigan leaders gather input regarding ministry and mission activities.

The meetings will be held via Zoom on:

  • Monday, April 25 from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 26 from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 28 from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 1 from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m.

Information gathered during these Mission & Ministry Priorities Conversations will be considered as presbytery leaders begin work to draft the 2023 budget. Additional information will be pulled from MAPs (Ministry Action Plans) that presbytery and congregational leaders must submit by Friday, June 17, to identify what activities are planned during 2023, how those activities relate to the presbytery’s mission, values and goals, and what funds are needed to support those activities. More information will be distributed soon about this process. In July, the Budget & Finance Committee members will review each submitted MAP and begin the process of prioritization.

Budget & Finance Committee members will draft a proposed budget for 2023 and, in concert with the Leadership Team, present the first read of the proposed 2023 budget during the Saturday, September 17 Stated Meeting.

The number of participants in each online Ministry & Missions Priorities Conversation will be limited to fifteen (15) people plus at least two (2) B&F Committee members and staff members. An additional Zoom space will be established if there are more than fifteen (15) people signed up for any of the meeting time slots.

The following participation guidelines also will be followed during these conversations.

  • Each congregation is invited to send representatives to one conversation. These representatives may include up to three (3) Session members OR  up to two (2) Session members and the pastor.
  • Teaching elders who are members at large, validated ministers or honorably retired may register to attend one of the conversations.
  • Each campus ministry is invited to send the campus minster and one board member to attend one of the conversations.

Each conversation will be recorded and that recording available online for up to three (3) months

Each person must register individually to attend a listening conversation. But, as noted above, all the individuals representing a specific congregation or campus ministry must attend the same conversation. The assumption is that all those individuals from one congregation or group will share information with others in the same congregation or group who were not able to attend.

Click here to register. Advance registration must be completed 4 p.m. Monday, April 18.

Link details will be sent to the email provided on the registration form at least 48 hours before the conversation is scheduled to start.

Those who cannot participate in one of the online conversations are encouraged to send written comments and questions to bnfmoderator@lakemichiganpresbytery.org
