Two workshops to help church groups develop skills are being offered online by the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center as the group also prepares to offer both in-person and online mediation skills training.

Conflict Transformation Skills for Churches

9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (CT) Saturday, January 29, 2022 via Zoom. Cost is $102 per person. Discount of $15 per person available if 4 or more people register at the same time. Additional sessions will be offered March 26, May 7, September 4 and November 5.

Designed to give participants the knowledge and skills needed to manage conflicts in a healthier manner, participants will learn to regard conflict not as a negative force but as a positive opportunity for reconciliation, spiritual growth and a renewed awareness of God’s will for your church.

Healthy Congregations 

8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (CT) Saturday, February 26, 2022 via Zoom. Cost is $102 per person. Discount of $15 per person available if 4 or more people register at the same time. Additional sessions will be offered April 2, June 4, August 27 and October 1.

Designed to equip leaders to respond to the presence or potential threat of anxiety in a congregational system in a way that prevents destructive conflict and helps the church stay focused on its mission and purpose, participants will gain insight into the family systems theory.

Mediation Skills Training Institute for Church Leaders in 2022

  • In-person classes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (CT) June 13-17 in Fort Mill, South Carolina; August 1-5 in the Chicago area, or November 14-18 in a location to be determined.
  • Online classes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (CT) March 14-18 or May 9-13.

Lombard Mennonite Peace Center

The center provides speakers and education resources for churches of all denominations on biblical peace and justice issues as well as training about conflict transformation skills and family systems theory, mediation services and consultation services for churches, schools and other organizations.
