Applications are still being accepted from male teaching elders interested in serving as a commissioner to the 225th annual PC(USA) General Assembly in 2022.

While the logistical details of the GA are still developing, the Committee on the Office of the General Assembly has announced that a hybrid model will incorporate in-person committee meetings and online plenaries into the proceedings between June 18 and July 9, 2022. In September, Presbytery members approved a female teaching elder along with both a male and female ruling elder to serve as GA commissioners. Presbytery members also approved a Young Adult Advisory Delegate.

But members of the Nominating & Representation Committee continue seeking a male teaching elder (to ensure equal representation) to serve as a GA commissioner and a young person between 17 and 23 years old to serve as the alternate Young Adult Advisory Delegate.

Male teaching elders – including those actively serving a congregation, in validated ministry, member at large or honorably retired – interested in applying to be a GA commissioner should click here to find a fillable .pdf version of the application.

Completed applications and supporting documents – with appropriate Session, or Commission on Ministry endorsements – should be submitted via email to office@lakemichiganpresbytery.org by Monday, November 15, 2021.
