“Leaders dance. Leaders dance in ways that welcome everyone of every ability.”

That’s the focus of a recent reflection written by the Rev. Dr. Rodger Nishioka as part of the Regarding Ruling Elders: A Monthly Series for Serving Faithfully.

Rev. Nishioka writes about being a keynote speaker at a weekend youth retreat near Portland where the participation of one youth in some activities was limited some because of her wheelchair. Another youth participant stepped forward during a dance at the event and asked everyone else to make a simple adjustment that allowed everyone to join the fun.
