SUBMIT: Information for 2021 Terms of Call using forms on website
Forms are now available to report the 2021 Terms of Call for teaching elders within the Presbytery of Lake Michigan. Each congregation is required to annually submit information about the compensation package provided to the teaching elder(s) called to serve their church.
The forms may be found at https://lakemichiganpresbytery.org/documents/ under the “Annual Reporting” heading.
* Terms of Call information may be reported via an online form by clicking here. This option will generate a .pdf copy of the form that will be emailed to both the person completing the form and the presbytery’s office manager.
Those congregations being served by an interim pastor, a contracted supply pastor or a Commissioned Ruling Elder (CRE) are asked to send a copy of the approved contract to the email address listed above.
The compiled Terms of Call information is scheduled for presentation to the presbytery during the June 8, 2021 Stated Meeting.
AVAILABLE: Full scholarships to APCE “Anything But Ordinary Time” conference
The 2021 Association of Presbyterian Christian Educators (APCE) Virtual Event won’t happen until February but applications to get full event scholarships from the group are due soon.
A variety of workshops, keynote speakers, seminars and worship will focus on “Anything But Ordinary Time” and Revelation 21:5a during the event being held online February 4-6, 2021. Details about the event may be found at https://www.facebook.com/
Registration costs $100 per person, and may be completed by clicking below. But each presbytery can recommend up to four people to receive a $100 scholarship from APCE. Applications are especially sought from individuals who serve or attend a church with an annual budget of less than $200,000 and who commit to attend the entire virtual event. Preference will be given to persons of color.
Presbytery members interested in being nominated for the APCE scholarship should send an email to Sallie Campbell, the Michigan representative to the Great Lakes Association of Presbyterian Church Educators (GLAPCE) at email@example.com by January 15, 2021.
SEEKING: Feedback about worship resources the Synod might provide
Leaders with the Synod of the Covenant want to help congregational leaders proclaim the Gospel and minister to community members during these difficult, changing times of the pandemic.
To that end, the Synod is conducting a brief survey to determine whether the virtual Advent worship series has been helpful and if a similar set of services should be provided for Lent. Click below to complete the survey by Friday, January 8, 2021.
Please note that this survey is being conducted by the Synod of the Covenant, and its leaders want to consider feedback from all congregations in the member presbyteries while making plans.
AVAILABLE: Synod Advent worship series features PLM this week
Pastors, worship leaders, musicians and tech gurus of the various presbyteries within the Synod of the Covenant have been working to create and offer worship services as a gift to our congregations for each Sunday in Advent, Christmas Eve and the first Sunday of Christmas.

Karen Kelley along with congregation members from Eastminster Presbyterian Church in East Lansing and the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Jackson.
Links to the sermons, scriptures and complete service files for each week will be posted on the Synod’s website each week. Click below to access those files.
