SOUGHT: Information for the 2019-20 PLM Celebration of Saints report

Preparations are being made for the annual Celebration of Saints that will occur during the December 1, 2020 Presbytery of Lake Michigan Stated Meeting.

During this celebration, the names of all Elders who have gone to eternal glory during the past year are reported and honored.

We need your help compiling a list of any Elders from your congregation who joined the Church Triumphant between October 1, 2019 and September 30, 2020. The information must be submitted by Thursday, November 12, 2020 to be included in the 2019-20 necrology report.

Please gather a list of any Elders from your congregation who should be included in the Celebration of Saints and the dates of their deaths. Then, click here to enter the information online. If no elders died in the past year, simply record “NONE” in the field where you are asked to name individuals so it can be reported that your church did respond.

You also may use the attached fillable .pdf form or click here to find that form online. After entering your information, either send it as an e-mail attachment to office@lakemichiganpresbytery.org or return it via postal mail to the presbytery at 1511 Helen Avenue, Portage, MI 49002.

SAVE THE DATE: Clerks meeting 11/14 to review 2019 Session minutes

A virtual meeting for Clerks of Sessions to review 2019 Session minutes will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 14.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Clerks of Session did not meet in person with their clusters this year to have minute books and registers reviewed. Instead, clerks will be paired with one another to exchange and review minutes. This process originally was scheduled for October 17 but has been delayed.

Also during the November 14 session, the presbytery’s Stated Clerk, the Rev. Fran Lane-Lawrence will answer any questions the clerks might have. Results of the minute reviews will be recorded on the appropriate form to be included in the minutes book and sent via email to the Stated Clerk at flanelawrenceplm@gmail.com.
