A message from Fran Lane-Lawrence

Friends: Please watch the video below. IGNORE THE PLACE AND DATE, but do pay attention to the ten reasons to meet via ZOOM. Stewart Smith of the Presbytery of Arkansas is great. The Presbytery of Lake Michigan will be meeting on June 9, 2020 via ZOOM.

The next Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Lake Michigan will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, via electronic meeting technology.

Remember to register before June 2 for the meeting

Teaching elders, designated elder commissioners and ruling elders assigned voting rights to balance the rolls need to register for the Zoom webinar session by clicking below between now and Tuesday, June 2. After that date, participants will be sent a unique link that must be used to access the meeting space where dialogue and voting will happen. We will not be able to provide a link to the presbytery meeting to those who do not register by June 2.

Everyone else who wishes to view the meeting will be asked to watch via a live-stream broadcast. Details about how to access that link will be provided by June 2.

Teaching elders who are unable to attend the June 9 virtual meeting should request an excused absence by clicking below.

Submit packet items by May 28 so materials can be posted June 2

To the extent possible, all reports to the presbytery will be given in written format and included in the written packet so that everyone has easy access to accurate information. Written reports should be sent to office@lakemichiganpresbytery.org by 2 p.m. Thursday, May 28.

The meeting packet will be available on the presbytery website and in the Presbytery Records folder by Tuesday, June 2 so that participants may review the information and print copies for themselves. The presbytery will NOT provide any printed packets for this meeting.

Plan to attend a special training meeting at 1:30 p.m. June 1

To help the meeting run as smoothly as possible, a special Zoom training is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 1. This will give those planning to participate in the virtual meeting a chance to make sure their equipment is adequate AND become familiar with protocols that will be  used to recognize speakers during the meeting and record votes on action items.

If you’re interested in participating, please indicate during the meeting registration that you’d like to join the Zoom training OR send a message to office@lakemichiganpresbytery.org. Information about how to register for the training will then be sent to you.
