The Presbytery of Scioto Valley is hosting The Art of Transitional Ministry 101 on May 3-7, 2020 at Procter Camp & Conference Center (11235 St. Rt. 38 E. London, Ohio).

The Art of Transitional Ministry offers education in the skills of understanding and leading a congregation and faith community in journeys along with transitional terms.

This event is for pastors and leaders serving in congregations in
the midst of transitions in leadership, culture, context, and ministry. It is also appropriate for leaders that are serving in short-term transitional ministry positions, including interim and designated pastors, as well as installed/appointed pastors serving congregations in the midst of change.

Week One: Intro to Transitional Ministry

Week 1 is for pastors or congregational leaders serving or considering serving congregations in the midst of transitions in leadership, culture, context, and ministry. You will be introduced to best practices in transitional ministry: Entering the congregation and community;
Getting to know the church and community; Identifying the congregation’s strength and growing edges; Assuming responsibility for assisting the congregation in moving toward a vibrant future; Leaving the congregation in a healthy and appropriate way.

Program Details

Procter Center is a mid- sized retreat and event facility for daytime and
overnight groups. The center rests on 60 acres of a 1,200+ acres site in predominately agricultural Madison County, Ohio. Procter Center is an
affiliate of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio.
