Effective March 10, 2023, the Presbytery of Lake Michigan will change email subscription providers from Mailchimp to MailerLite. This will not affect your subscription status to presbytery communications.
The change, however, might not be recognized by your email provider (gmail, yahoo, etc.). Please check your spam box after March 10 for the eDigest and Gathering at the Well communications if you do not see them. This change will not impact communications sent by PLM Leaders about specific topics or activities. These emails will continue to come from office@lakemichiganpresbytery.org.
For any questions regarding this change, please contact the tech manager, Kristen Schell, at tech@lakemichiganpresbytery.org, or the communications and tech support coordinator, Emily Franson, at efranson@lakemichiganpresbytery.org.
I’m interested in knowing what prompted your change as we use mail chimp too.
Good question! Starting today, Mailchimp was going to start charging people if they send more than 1,000 emails per month. Since we send out emails on a weekly basis, we would hit that limit because we have a lot of subscribers. Under the new rules, it would just mean we can only send one email a month otherwise, we’ll hit the limit. We switched to Mailerlite to save the Presbytery money but have the same features and then some.
