Electing an executive presbyter, learning about refugee resettlement work, and hearing how one congregation is fulfilling the gospel call of the Matthew 25 initiative were among tasks tackled during the March 12, 2022 Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Lake Michigan.

The body also:

  • Welcomed the Rev. Hailey Malcom into the presbytery as she began work as a pediatric chaplain at the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids,
  • Concurred with an “Earth Care Overturn” being presented to the 225th General Assembly, and
  • Elected the Rev. Mark Pawlowski, honorably retired, to serve on the Commission on Ministry, and the Rev. Paul Van Kempen, associate pastor at the First Presbyterian Church of Holland, to serve on the Commission on the Preparation for Ministry.
