This week the Okemos Presbyterian Church would like prayers…

the third phase of our Capital Campaign, Roots and Wings. This part of the campaign is designed to retire our debt in 2021 and provide additional funds in the present moment to expand our mission outreach and programming.

the congregation as they grieve for the six church members who died within three months this spring and for the deaths of two charter members in the past year.

the long-standing relationships with the local Islamic Center and area synagogues. We are grateful for these relationships that have been a source of strength for the entire community over the last few months as our nation has experienced outbreaks of sectarian and racially-inspired violence.


We are excited by many new families in our fellowship, thriving programs for children and youth, a renewed commitment to mission outreach and shared mission giving, and the continued excellence of our preaching, worship, and music.

As founder of the Global Institute of Lansing (GIL), our congregation celebrates the expansion of this program into the Grand Rapids area in 2019. GIL was started with monies from our congregation and a grant from The Synod of the Covenant. It provides recent immigrants and refugees with an opportunity to earn a high school diploma even though many of the students have had to flee from their native lands without documents that prove their educational credentials.
