College and university students are heading back to classes this month . . . and campus ministry leaders across the Presbytery of Lake Michigan need your help connecting those students with programs, conversations, and space where they can ask questions about faith and life as they learn and grow.
Presbytery of Lake Michigan members are encouraged to refer students from their congregations and communities to campus ministry leaders. Four campus ministry programs currently support students at colleges and universities within the presbytery:

A connection beyond our borders
Some of our students head off to schools outside the presbytery’s bounds, and this fall, First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor wants your congregation to know their doors are open too. If you know anyone attending the University of Michigan or Eastern Michigan University, invite them to check out UKirk campus ministry at First Presbyterian Church Ann Arbor. Their campus ministry gathers Tuesday nights at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m., hosts monthly grad student dinners, and welcomes students at Sunday services held at 8:00 and 9:30 a.m. For more information, contact the Rev. Don’t know a student to refer? You can still help.
- Pray – Hold the work of all campus ministries in prayer at regular intervals, especially as a new school year begins.
- Contribute – Campus ministry programs within the presbytery receive shared mission dollars, but those funds do not cover the full financial needs of the ministries. Consider supporting a campus ministry directly through your congregation’s mission giving.
- Encourage – Reach out to a campus ministry near you to ask how your congregation might help, whether that’s collecting supplies, volunteering at events, or sending care packages and encouraging notes to students far from home.
