Children and youth within any of the four presbyteries in Michigan may get summer camp scholarship funds from a special program through the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven.

The program was established several years ago by a donor who wants to provide financial assistance to any children or youth who want to attend a Christian summer camp.

This year, the scholarships are being offered to all the churches within the presbyteries of Lake Michigan, Detroit, Lake Huron and Mackinac as well as any Seventh Day Adventist congregations in Michigan.

Families are expected to pay, at a minimum, the camp registration fee then return a completed Youth Camp Program scholarship application with proof of registration that shows the balance due. Applications are due by March 31, 2021. The scholarship will pay up to $500 directly to the camp to cover the remaining camp fee. No reimbursements will be made. There are no income requirements to qualify.

The donor does ask that the children and youth seeking scholarships do work around the house or community to earn the registration fees and send a letter, which will be shared with the donor, after camp reflecting on the experience,
