Donations are being collected by the United Campus Christian Fellowship (UCCF)  to assemble “finals” snack bags for Grand Rapids area college students.

“We want the students to know that even as this difficult year ends that they are not forgotten,” says UCCF campus minister Nancy Janisch.

UCCF –  formed as True North Campus ministry joins with ministry partners from the United Methodist Church and the Evangelical Lutheran Church – will distribute lunch-size paper bags filled with commercially packaged snacks the week of December 6 to students at Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids Community College and Kendall College of Art and Design. The treats will be distributed just before final exams week.

Most years, the group distributes about 250 bags filled with donated snack items like granola bars, microwave popcorn, single-serve microwavable items like soup and noodles, chips and pretzels, cookies, candy and dried fruit plus beverages like coffee, tea and cocoa.

Some congregations donate snack items that UCCF volunteers put into bags while other congregations donate bags that they have filled or make a financial contribution to purchase supplies.
