Grant applications are being accepted from congregations, institutions and organizations to support ministries that build congregational vitality, dismantle structural racism and/or eradicate systemic poverty within the geographic bounds of the Synod of the Covenant.

The goals stem from the PC(USA) Matthew 25 movement but applicants need not to have formally joined the movement to receive up to $5,000.

Applicants must, however, submit an application by September 30, 2021, along with an endorsement or reference letter from the pastor, clerk of session or executive director AND a letter of endorsement or reference sent under separate cover from the presbytery leader.

Grant recipients will be notified no later than November 15, 2021. Preference will be given to applications that primarily involve Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and/or that focus on the ministry’s local neighborhoods.

The Synod is part of the Matthew 25 Movement.
