The next Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Lake Michigan will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 13, via electronic meeting technology.
The meeting will focus on “Reflecting Together the Mission of Christ.” The morning session will include presbytery business and worship with communion conducted via a Zoom webinar. The afternoon session will include break-out discussion areas in a Zoom meeting where participants will engage in dialogue about specific questions:
1. How has “reflecting the mission” changed for congregations? How has it changed for the presbytery?
2. What changes have been beneficial? What changes have been detrimental?
3. What has stayed the same? What should not have stayed the same? What should stay the same?
Teaching elders, designated elder commissioners and ruling elders assigned voting rights to balance the rolls need to register – and indicate what break-out discussion they would like to join – by Tuesday, March 2, using a link that will be available on the Stated Presbytery Meeting page at lakemichiganpresbytery.org after February 12. A unique link for the morning session will be sent to approved participants on Friday, March 12. Link details for the break-out sessions will be sent after noon on March 13.

What is “reflecting the mission”?
Thank you, Arthur, for reaching out with this question.
The overall theme of the March 13 Stated Meeting is “Reflecting Together the Mission of Christ” as the presbytery considers the work before it in the context of its mission statement: The Presbytery of Lake Michigan forms and partners with faith communities to challenge, encourage, equip and hold one another accountable as Christ’s disciples.
Those participating in one of the break-out discussions will consider how reflecting that mission statement has changed for congregations and the presbytery as our world continues to change.
