Rev. Woong-Sik (Timothy) Chon, a visual artist and senior pastor at North Westminster Presbyterian Church in Lansing, is passionate about the need for ministers to take a sabbatical for personal and professional renewal.

He shares some thoughts about the importance of sabbaticals in an article published recently by the Board of Pensions.

Chon describes how his sabbatical last year looked radically different, in part because of the pandemic, than originally planned and how he used a Sabbath Sabbatical Grant from the Board of Pensions to build a pergola and create a portrait as he grieved the death of his father.
