NOTE: Final preparations underway for September 19 Stated Meeting
The next Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Lake Michigan will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 19, via electronic meeting technology.
The docket includes a sermon delivered by the Rev. Chris Roseland, PC(USA) Lead Mission Engagement Advisor for the North Region, and comments from the Rev. Chip Hardwick, transitional executive for the Synod of the Covenant.
Also during the meeting, presbytery members will celebrate the retirement of the Rev. Jeffrey Carlson from First Presbyterian Church in Battle Creek and examine three candidates for ordination. (Details about how the examinations will be conducted may be found here.)
Stated Meeting training session on Monday, September 14
Consider registering to attend the Stated Meeting training session at 2:30 p.m. Monday, September 14. The session will include some basic Zoom webinar info BUT it also will allow people to experience what a webinar involves, verify that their devices can connect correctly AND practice some of the logistical points involved with making comments and voting during the virtual meeting. Use this link to register by September 12 for the training session. After that date, registered participants will be sent a unique link to access the training webinar.
Meeting Registration open through September 12
Teaching elders, designated elder commissioners and ruling elders assigned voting rights to balance the rolls need to register for the Zoom webinar session by clicking here between now and Friday, September 12. After that date, registered participants will be sent a unique link that must be used to access the meeting space where dialogue and voting will happen. Please keep the link code in a safe place as it is unique to each individual; without this unique code individuals will not be able to connect to the meeting.
Visitors and others who wish to attend the meeting will be asked to watch via a live-stream broadcast. The link will be posted at www.lakemichiganpresbytery.org under the “Stated Meeting Details” tab, and included in the September 16 eDIGEST.
Teaching elders who are unable to attend the September 19 virtual meeting should remember to request an excused absence by using this link.
