Dear Siblings in Jesus Christ,
This past weekend, some pastors and church leaders asked if we were rethinking the recommendations of April 24, 2020 that:
Congregations do not meet for worship services in person through at least July 5, 2020 but rather continue to utilize various technologies to provide worship experiences for congregational members and others.
The inquiries appeared to be precipitated by questions from members and attendees, by statements from various politicians or government officials, by announcements from neighboring congregations, by our desire to be together again when it is safe to do so, and by a desire to plan.
We told each one who asked that we affirm the previous recommendations.
This matter will be discussed at the June 4, 2020 Leadership Team meeting. Leadership Team members will consider the changes in knowledge and understanding relative to the spread and methods of containment of the virus.
If you have input, you are invited to send it to the Leadership Team via an email to the office manager at email@example.com or by contacting either transitional co-leader. You may reach the Rev. Fran Lane-Lawrence at firstname.lastname@example.org or (269) 240-8155, and you may reach the Rev. Cal Bremer at email@example.com or (616) 401-2834.
