Connecting individuals and churches of color with each other, to discover joint interests and hopes for shared ministries, is the focus of a newly-hired Organizer for Synod Communities of Color.

Rev. Lindsey Anderson has been hired by the Synod of the Covenant to fill the part-time, one-year position that will be guided by a Steering Committee and serve the Asian, Black, Latino/Hispanic, Middle Eastern and Native American communities.

Rev. Anderson is an ordained PC(USA) teaching elder and co-pastor of Love Rising Lutheran Church, an ELCA congregation on the east side of Detroit. Click here to learn more about her background.

In a column to introduce herself and her work as Organizer for Synod Communities of Color, Rev. Anderson writes:

“As I am sifting through my emails today, I consider short handing this title, but the OSCC doesn’t exactly ring with simplicity, and Synod Organizer is so generic that it elicits more questions than anything else. In light of the job description, one might think of this ministry, at its onset, as a listening campaign.”
