Applications are due by Thursday, March 31,2022 for children and youth within any of the four presbyteries in Michigan to get camp scholarship funds from a special program through the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven.

The program was established several years ago by a donor who wants to provide financial assistance to any child or youth who wants to attend a Christian summer camp.

This year, the scholarships are being offered to all campers attending churches within the presbyteries of Lake Michigan, Detroit, Lake Huron and Mackinac as well as any Seventh Day Adventist congregations in Michigan. Click here to find the scholarship application.

Families are expected to pay, at a minimum, the camp registration fee then return a completed Youth Camp Program scholarship application with proof of registration that shows the balance due. The scholarship will pay up to $500 directly to the camp to cover the remaining camp fee. No reimbursements will be made. There are no income requirements to qualify.

The donor does ask that the children and youth seeking scholarships do work around the house or community to earn the registration fee and then send a letter after attending camp, which will be shared with the donor, reflecting on the experience.

Questions about the Youth Camp Project scholarship program should be directed to the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven at (616) 842-6760 or firstpres@fpgh.org.
