Several leadership development workshops – including Boundaries Training –  are being offered by the Synod of the Covenant as it supports congregational vitality.

So far, dates have been set for three boundaries training classes that will each be offered in two 2.5-hour sessions on successive days:

10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Tuesday and Wednesday
May 18 and 19, 2021

6 to 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday and Thursday
August 18 and 19, 2021

10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Tuesday and Wednesday
November 9 and 10, 2021

Examples used by facilitators in the May and November sessions will be targeted more towards pastors and teaching elders while examples during the August sessions will be geared more towards ruling elders. But participants are welcome to attend whichever pair of sessions best fits their schedule. There is no charge to attend the boundaries training but registration is required.

Although dates are not set yet, the Synod also plans to offer:

  • Racial Justice Training, which will include a $150 Intercultural Development Inventory fee for each participant.
  • Emotional Intelligence Training, which will include a $115 Emotional Quotient Inventory 2.0 Leadership Assessment fee for each participant.
  • Conflict Management, which will include a $35 Thomas-Killman Conflict Mode Instrument fee for each participant.
  • Committee on Ministry and Committee on the Preparation for Ministry training with no cost to participants.

The Synod is offering the boundaries training classes and other courses through an agreement with LeaderWise, and will cover two-thirds of the cost to provide each class. Note: The Synod will not contribute toward the cost of individual assessments for the racial justice, emotional intelligence or conflict management trainings.
