As seen on Facebook: Jackson Care Ministry

Partnerships help people. That’s a lesson being demonstrated as the Jackson Personal Care Ministry posted some pictures April 24 on Facebook at Jackson Personal Care Ministry showing volunteers distributing vital personal care items donated for area residents.

Thank you to all our volunteers, donors, and partner churches. During the shutdown everyone is coming together to serve residents in need of vital personal care items.

The post above was later shared by the Rev. Karen Kelley of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Jackson with the following comments:

“Westminster Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church in Jackson continue this partnership with other churches across a spectrum of denominations, even more needed during the pandemic than in ordinary times.

Jackson Personal Care Ministry provides toiletries, cleaning supplies, and paper products each week to Jackson County residents in need. We also have been able to give out cloth masks made by members of the wider community. Many of our regular volunteers are at high-risk from this virus, and others from the community have stepped up to help distribute products.

During our first three years, we received startup support from the Presbytery, and we also received a one-time grant from the Synod of the Covenant…so you have all supported this ministry! Two spring fundraisers had to be postponed, but we’ve been blessed with products collected by a community group and with financial gifts that have enabled us to purchase needed items.”
