Jonesville First Presbyterian Church took steps to help keep its congregation, staff and visitor safe in all kinds of situations.

Members of the Safe Church Committee worked for more than a year to develop a nine-page, detailed plan to keep people safe during a variety of emergency situations.

Their pastor, the Rev. Lynne McQuown, and Dr. Raymond Steel wrote an article about the process for the Presbyterian News Service. Find a copy of the article at the button below.

The article concludes with the following thought:

Let us pray that we never have to rely on this plan for our safety. But there is some comfort in knowing that attention has been given for our safety while we’re in this building.

“Do not fear, for I am with you,
Do not be afraid, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.”
Isaiah 41: 10 (NRSV)
