The Synod of the Covenant is offering scholarships for students pursuing their first bachelor’s degree, vocational certification, or a first master’s degree in theology. Applicants must be active participants in a congregation, new worshipping community, or campus ministry within the Synod’s bounds, maintain at least a 2.0 GPA, and show leadership that supports thriving ministries, addresses structural racism, and/or engages issues of poverty.

Scholarships are renewable for up to five years and will be paid through the applicant’s church or campus ministry. Special consideration is given to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) applicants and those with significant financial need. Applications are due September 2, 2025; recipients will be notified by October 15.

The Synod is also accepting applications for Matthew 25 Grants, open to PC(USA) congregations and institutions within the Synod—or congregations collaborating with non-PC(USA) partners—to support ministries that align with the Matthew 25 Initiative. Special consideration will be given to BIPOC-led ministries and proposals focused on systemic change and neighborhood engagement. Applications are due September 30, 2025.
