Resources now are available on the PC(USA) COVID-19 resource page for prayers at the time of death in situations where patients are quarantined and pastors or loved ones are not permitted to be present, and for medical personnel who may be seeking to offer spiritual care.
The documents, developed by the PC(USA) Office of Theology and Worship, include:
- Prayer at the Time of Death (booklet, larger print)
- Comforting the Bereaved (booklet, larger print)
Both are available in booklet and large-print formats, and are based on the Book of Common Worship © 2018 and adapted with permission of the Westminster John Knox Press with all rights reserved – April 13, 2020.
The documents can be found at https://www.pcusa.org/covid19/ where the PC(USA) is posting links to various information that may be used as we move through the coronavirus crisis. It’s found under “Worship and Sacramental Celebration” section.
My Dad is locked down in his Assisted Living home, his name is John Duley, he is 99 and a retired Presbyterian minister.
A call to him during this difficult time would be wonderful.

Thank you, Judith, for letting us know! I told our Stated Clerk and she said she will reach out to you and said that one of our members have reached out to your Dad. 🙂
