Applications now are being accepted from individuals interested in serving as commissioners for the Presbytery of Lake Michigan during the 224th annual PC(USA) General Assembly scheduled June 20-27, 2020 in Baltimore, MD.

The presbytery will elect two teaching elder commissioners, two ruling elder commissioners and one Young Adult Advisory Delegate. A copy of the commissioner application is available here, and a copy of the YAAD application is available here.  Completed applications and supporting documents — with appropriate Session and pastor endorsements —  must be received by Friday, June 14 at the presbytery office via postal mail or e-mail.  Election of the commissioners is scheduled during the September 14 Stated Meeting.

When reviewing application to serve as the GA commissions and YAAD, the Nominating and Representation Committee will consider the following criteria:

  1. Past record of service to the presbytery and its congregations.
  2. Commitments for continued service to the presbytery and its congregations following attendance at GA.
  3. Diversity and geographic distribution concerns within the presbytery.

Preference will be given to applicants from different congregations in successive General Assemblies.
