Congratulations to
- Rev. Christine Barnes (Brooklyn) was installed as the Moderator of the Synod of the Covenant at the November Assembly.
- Rev. Janet Van Lear is retiring as of Dec. 31, 2009
- Dr. Donna Rick will be a CLP for Spring Lake.
- Rev. Johnson Mwara will be Pastor of the Gloval Hosanna Fellowship, a ministry endorsed by and associated with John Knox in GR.
- Elder Jim Spindler, MD, has joined the staff at Hastings as a Commissioned Lay Pastor.
- Rev. Brenda Deily has joined Rev. Jon Deily at Three Rivers-Centerville as co-pastors.
- Rev. Timothy Chon, formerly the Associate at Okemos, was called to a new position serving both Lansing North and Lansing Westminster congregations.
- Matthew Wright, Jenison Parkwood congregation
- Karen (Kate) Russick Huddelson as Designated Pastor to the Ionia congregation.

Lake Michigan Presbyterian Women gives over $19,000 to Mission The Lake Michigan Presbyterian Women continue to be active but as with all organizations everywhere we are struggling to find new members and members willing to step into leadership positions. We continue with our mission projects and would like to share with you what we have accomplished over the last year. Our disbursements have included: $19,457.21 Mission Pledge. Haiti Health Kits Just a reminder that the Westminster Grand Rapids Youth Groups and the Presbyterian Women will be putting together Hygiene Kits for Haiti that will be sent-out through the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance program. Ionia - Tuesday Evening Lenten ProgramLenten Vespers: February 23 – March 30 7:00 p.m. Join with your fellow brothers and sisters in a special time of prayer, liturgy and singing each Tuesday evening as we prepare our voices and hearts towards the road to Jerusalem, culminating in Easter on April 4th. Come be refreshed and renewed for a special Vespers (i.e. "evening") Service of Light @ 7 p.m. We will have young members of our congregation and local youth musicians play responsorial liturgical songs at the piano. |

Mid-Winter Day of DedicationPresbyterian Women at Westminster Grand Rapids will hold their annual Mid-Winter Day of Dedication on Saturday, February 6. They will assemble the Valentine bags for women's shelters and complete Gifts of the Heart for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. There will be a continental breakfast and a potluck lunch. Come for as long as you can! |
